Activities:

·       1972-end 1980s: pure mathematics

·       1982-end 1980s: taking part in development of a new understanding of the Soviet economy and  creation of a professional community who eventually played the key role in Russian reforms of the 1990-ies

·       1992-99:  design and implementation of several international programs to create new economic and social protection institutions

·       2000-05: small and medium enterprise (SME) research

·       2005: Fulbright-Kennan research scholar; weekly columnist to Izvestia newspaper

·       2006-11: adviser, Bank of Russia

·       2012 - : professor at FINEC

·       September 2013 - : director, Center for Advanced Studies, FINEC

 

Born in 1949 and ever since living in Moscow; married; three children and six grandchildren.
